  • BUTE: Compaq AlphaServer/16
  • ELTE: Compaq AlphaServer/16
  • MTA SZTAKI: Beowulf cluster (56 PIII/500)
  • NIIFI: 2 x Sun Fire15K/72, Beowulf cluster (64 PIII/1050)

National academic network

HUNGARNET uses the national HBONE network with a backbone of 10 Gbps to connect 700 higher education institutes, R&D organisations and libraries throughout the whole country at speeds of 34 Mbps up to 1 Gbps. International connectivity is 10 Gbps to GÉANT.
