National academic network

The Ukrainian Research and Academic Network (URAN) was mainly established through the National Informatization Programme for 1998-2000.
The backbone of URAN connects regional centers in Kiev, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Odessa, Lviv and Simferopol. The backbone links are 64 kbps upto 6 Mbps. The connection to GÉANT is 512 Kbps (via ACOnet).
